Google has launched a new AI tool to help users pick gifts. The system looks at public social media posts from the person receiving the gift. It checks likes, shares, comments, and photos to find clues about their interests. This helps suggest presents that match what they like.

The AI does not access private messages or locked accounts. It only uses information people share openly online. Google says user privacy is a top concern. The tool asks for permission before scanning any profiles. Users can also delete the data anytime.

People who tested the feature said it made shopping easier. One user found a perfect hiking backpack after the AI noticed outdoor photos on their friend’s profile. Another got a book suggestion based on a recent review their sibling shared.

The gift helper works inside Google Search and the Google app. You type “gift ideas for [name]” and connect their public profile. The AI then shows a list of options with prices and links. It updates suggestions if the recipient posts new content.

Google built this tool using its existing search and image recognition systems. It does not store personal details long term. The company says it follows strict rules to protect user data. No ads are shown in the gift results.
