A novel composite of SnS2 together with the single-walled carbon-nanotube (SWCNTs) was developed using an easy solvothermal procedure. When the current density is high of 1 A/gand after 100 cycle, it still retains a specific capacity that is reversible of 515 amps/g. As a comparison, we used the same procedure to create a single SnS2 material, and conduct an electrochemical analysis on it. Results indicate that although the initial specific capacity of the SnS2 material is excellent, the cycle efficiency is poorand diminishes quickly after less than 20 cycles. The better quality of this material for lithium-ion batteries thought to be due to the synergy between two elements that comprise SnS2 as well as SWCNTs.
