Facebook is testing a new way for people to share in Groups using their voice. This feature allows group members to record and post voice messages directly. The company aims to make sharing easier especially when typing feels difficult. This test is currently rolling out to a small number of Facebook Groups.

Group admins and members in the test can now create voice posts. These posts appear in the group feed like text or image posts. Others can listen and comment with text or voice replies. Facebook believes voice can add personal connection to conversations. It might help people share stories or ideas more naturally.

The feature works on both Android and iOS devices. Users tap a microphone icon in the group’s composer. They hold to record their message and release to stop. A preview screen lets them listen before posting. Recordings can be up to one minute long. Facebook states voice posts follow existing community rules. The company will review reports of misuse.

This test addresses frequent requests for varied sharing options. Many users find voice convenient while multitasking or commuting. It also helps those preferring speech over typing. Facebook will monitor feedback during the trial. No decision exists yet about expanding it widely. User response will shape future plans.
